Steven Daily's Covenant
Steven Daily "Covenant" 1.7.11 from Sketch Theatre on Vimeo.
Check out this promo video
that Sketch Theatre has produced for LA artist Steven Daily’s upcoming
solo exhibition Covenant… the opening night is not to be missed on Jan, 7 2011 @ La Luz De Jesus in Hollywood, CA!
Covenant:
In my formative years, my parent’s moved from Southern California to the Midwest-Southern-Block of these United States. It was during this time that I had my first exposures curious marvels such as Shriner Parades & Freemason Lodges. This was an all new world to me, a world of secrets, cloaked in mystery, and filled with things talked about behind closed doors
For the past ten years I have been researching these socie…ties of secrets, conspiracies on the global elite, One-World Government, ritual-based orders, and theories around these ancient fraternities.
These clandestine orders formed the foundation for our country and even today hold the most powerful positions in our government.
I found the imagery, iconic symbology, & secret rituals irresistibly striking and fascinating that a country that was supposed to be founded on the Hebrew God was founded by men who performed ancient rituals behind closed doors.
This is my interpretation of the mystique, rumors, fats, research and theories based on the cloaked oaths and pacts that man makes with the mystic and odd…
Dust off your aluminum hats and join us, wont you?

Warm up
About a year ago My Land lord took me to his friends house whose husband had died and was an art teacher at UCLA. She pretty much gave me free rain over anything i wanted.I'll tell you this if i would have had a truck and a storage unit.
I would never had to by art supplies.
I found this old box of Higgins wood block inks in tube and glass.
brand new in the package from the fifty's. so today i was doing my usual warm up.
Random image out of my noodle. and started to play with these inks.
here's the results.
Did i mention i have the coolest land lord ever?

Charmer,
20 x 24"
Acrylic and oil on wood panel.
When I lived in Giorgia as a Teenager.
I experienced lots of weird things, oddities, Taxidermy, Things in jars, weird sayings and names,
As a young man, the south was Like going into a time machine after being born in southern California.
This painting Is based on An old saying about women who could charm bees.
"Bee charmers" The idea is to elaborate on that, and show the supernatural aspects of these so called charms they possessed.
I hope you enjoy my first in the series of "liquid alchemy".

A bit busy this month, with a creative roadblock.
Being an artist sucks soe times. because some times your just not creative.
If you don't work you don't eat.
Been playing The new splinter cell a bit, doing some freelance stuff for Hot topic,
and a few bands. Got a new Tattoo from my buddy Jeffery Page over at true tattoo.
I have been playing with the new app Hipstamatic.
pretty cool.
